Six months & Counting...

Hey Lingerie Lovers,

I've been wanting to write our first blog post for some time, but procrastination is a beast!  But also when running a small business, where you are the designer, marketing officer, researcher, social media expert, packer and tea maker...something has to give!
However, today the Universe sent a reminder of how far IHUOMA has come, in the form of our 6 month anniversary. At 8pm on the 27th September 2020, I launched the website and IHUOMA's first collection, Divine Feminine was released to the world...and the first 5 sales were like music to my ears...a moment I will never forget.
Whilst in the thick of running a new brand, it's easy to forget to reflect on how far one has come, and what has been achieved. So this post marks a virtual champagne toast to celebrate IHUOMA and the beautiful Tribe of lingerie goddesses we have created.

An ode to IHUOMA Queens
IHUOMA was created to celebrate the inherent beauty of Black women & the Divine Feminine, and I have been so elated to see women of all hues, from all over the world embrace our designs & see themselves reflected in the collection and our story of empowerment. We wanted to feature a few of you in our first blog post:

Bottom: A'isha & @jazthatlook

Creative Collaborations
The highlight of our journey so far, was when we collaborated with the Creative genius, photographer, A J Hamilton or as he's known on social media @thetogfather. This was a dream come true and something we'd been manifesting before we even launched.  To see our pieces immortalised in his art was incredible.  Featuring the divine @sheerahr - his take on the Venus saw our collection go viral on a level every brand dreams about.
In case you missed them, here are 2 of my favourite's -

As for the next 6 months...expect BIG things!

The changing season has inspired us to refresh our silk colour-ways to compliment our iconic Ankh embroidery - so look out for news on our SS21 capsule range, with some new designs added!

I'm also currently working on a new embroidery design with my daughter, which is so beautiful and is the perfect next chapter to the IHUOMA ethos of Ancestral divinity and empowerment.
Finally, we are also expanding our range of stockists, taking IHUOMA truly worldwide, which we are really excited about. Look out for news on our stockists soon!

It has truly been a whirlwind journey so far and the fact its taken us this long to write this post shows just how busy it has been... but we wouldn't have it any other way.
We promise you won't have to wait this long for the next one!

Happy Full Moon, IHUOMA Tribe and happy 6 months Anniversary to us!

Love and light,
Asé x
