In traditional Ghanaian culture they are worn specifically to signify femininity and sensuality and for some, the beads are a means of seduction to provoke desire. Sometimes, wives would use the rattling of the beads to communicate their fertility!
Our beautiful Amber Gold Waist Beads are crafted using warm earth toned coloured glass beads accented with a statement Amber coloured bead. We worked with Elsie and Chesca in Accra to develop our collection, selecting beads that compliment the colours of our Ankh embroidery and dark nude silks. The result - beautiful body jewellery that celebrates your feminine power.
